MISSION STATEMENT

Cherry Blossom School’s mission is to develop sustainable childcare whose primary goal is to exceed every parent's expectations by providing safe, best-in-class, educational and childcare services for children.  We are a family centered child care service in that we care for the children and their families.

PHILOSOPHY

Cherry Blossom School provides Japanese immersion childcare curriculum with a focus on cultural, social and physical development. We believe that children are able to express their emotions and needs among each other with careful guidance and mentoring by teachers in a safe environment. We also believe that family-centered approaches are crucial because parents and caregivers work together to build the optimal environment for learning.  Our goal is to partner with parents in order to establish a sense of well being within an individual while incorporating a growing sense of community. Parental feedback, questions and concerns, and how our program can be improved are all very important to us. 

FACILITY

Cherry Blossom School will provide a trained teachers and a modern, safe facility including 1400 SF of interior open space, a brand new kitchen and a brand new outdoor playground with industrial-grade outdoor flooring that is approved for fall heights over 7 feet. We also provide organic fruits, vegetables, snacks and diapers. The children will play and learn in clean, modern, indoor play spaces and an outdoor play area with padded flooring, safe play structures and a touch-and-grow organic garden.

TEAM

Cherry Blossom School will be staffed by professional daycare providers led by owner Akiko Kato. Advisors and board members include a childcare facility owner, site supervisor, child-psychologist PhD and an early childhood development professor.  Cherry Blossom School is a large family child care service and our caregiver-child ratio is maximum 1- 4. Our staff members are very caring and well trained, have EMSA certified CPR/First aid certificates, and we spend the time and energy to arrange the environment in appropriate ways. We provide a variety of interesting and worthwhile activities that promote growth and development. Our team is here to guide, protect, and teach children by relating to each child on an individual basis and by supporting their development in numerous ways.
